Vika and Nikolai are the only two enchanters left in the country of Russia , Vika can summon lightning from the sky and heal small animals ,Nikolai can make walls disappear and see through and build bridges and buildings out of thin air .They live in seperate worlds Vika's father is a Baron and they live on and island out side of Saint Petersburg training for the day that Vika will be come and enchanter for the royal Tsar of Russia . Nikolai  is an orphan taken in by his mentor Galina .

 Nikolia and Vika have no knowledge of each other until they are summoned by the royal Tsar to compete in the crowns game a magical competition to the death to see who will be come the one and only Royal Enchanter .Drawn to each other by the lost and forgotten art of magic ,curious yet wary of eachother can they really kill eachother to  win the crowns game just when they have finally met the one person in all of Russia and the rest of the world who understands them ? Love ,magic , betrayal ,enchantments , beauty and the culture of royal life in Russia come to life in this story .


 I was scared to read this book, most people who have reviewed and rate this book have either loved it or hated it .It was split right down the middle so I wasn't sure if I would like it .I'm glad that I followed my own instincts and pushed the negative reviews aside and read it . This book is one of the more refreshing books I have read in a while I can't compare it any other book out there right now .

 I give this book 5/5 stars and I'm not sure why people didn't like it some said the characters were to flat but I thought they had enough personality without over doing it or trying to hard which is when I find that book characters fall into cliches and they become predictable . I really enjoyed this book and I finished it quickly because it was so good I tried to savor it and make it last but that didn't work sadly . I recommend this book to anyone looking for a book that has a non fictional place but has fictional magical circumstances .Don''t let reviews sway you good or bad even mine read it for yourself  you might like it .
